View Rules
View Rules style Record Facts, and you can apply them to any View in the Grid layout. This is a great way to visually emphasize important information, indicate missing information, and keep staff up-to-date without requiring a deep dive into the Platform.
Record Facts are curated collections of key information pulled from around the Platform to summarize and visualize what you want your users need to see at a glance. Styling Record Facts makes the visual representation powerful.
The Platform comes pre-loaded with a variety of compelling styled Record Facts, and you can edit them or create your own for both Pages and Sub-Pages. You need edit rights to to customize your record facts on Pages, and you need edit rights to to customize your record facts on Sub-Pages.
- Formatting: An advanced user with edit rights to Page View Rules can format Record Facts without any JavaScript knowledge.
- Conditions: A power user with edit rights to Page View Rules and JavaScript knowledge (or a willingness to learn JavaScript) can create conditional View Rules.
Add a Page View Rule
- Identify or create your View. You must have a View before you can have a View Rule.
- In the navigation menu, click .
- Click Page View Rule.
- Make your selections.
- Click Save.
Customize Record Facts on Sub-Pages
- Identify or create your View.
- In the navigation menu, click .
- Click Page View Rule.
- Make your selections.
- Click Save.
View Rules Fields
- View
- The View that you're assigning rules to. To style Record Facts, the View is a Facts View, but any View can have View Rules. Note: The View must have a field list for View Rules to work.
- Field Name
- The specific column the View Rule applies to. If the column has an alias, refer to the alias.
- Condition
- The conditions to apply this formatting. This must be expressed in JavaScript using {value} token and is evaluated as "true" (formatting applied) or "false" (formatting not applied).
- Text Color
- A hex code or color name for text color. If blank, the text is white.
- Background Color
- A hex code or color name for background color. If blank, the background is gray. Want to match new background colors to the provided Record Facts? Check out our handy chart.
- Image Name
- The name of the Font Awesome icon you want to display, using this format: "fa-[image name]". Note: Be sure to use the version 5 Font Awesome library.
- Show Percentage
- When set to Yes, this value styles as a percentage. If you also define the background color, the percentage displays with a fill bar. Note: The percentage value itself calculates in the View. See Record Facts for more information.
- Show Label
- When set to Yes, the column name displays before the column value. If the column is an alias, the alias displays as the label.
- Format As
- Select the applicable format type for Record Facts you want to make clickable:
- Color: If selected, your View displays a color box for the selected hex code. You can see an example of what this looks like on .
- Email: If selected, your email provider launches when you click email addresses from desktop or mobile devices.
- Phone: If selected, your phone application launches when you click phone numbers from desktop or mobile devices.
- Blank: Leave this field blank if you don't want to format your Record Facts as one of the other options.

The Platform comes pre-loaded with a variety of great Record Facts. Colors aren't to your liking? No worries! You can do your church your way and customize your own Record Facts colors. Have branded colors for your church? Add those hex codes! Don't have branded colors? The sky's the limit!
