Manage in MMC

Manage SSL Certificates in the Microsoft Management Console (MMC). There you can view certificate details, such as thumbprints, issuing certificate authority, and permissions.

Launch MMC

The quickest way to get to MMC is from the Run window. You can do this more quickly the second time if you create an MMC file.

  1. The MMC is a general container to run any modules, called Snap-Ins. To add the Certificates Snap-In, click File > Add/Remove Snap-in...
  2. Next, select Certificates and click Add.
  3. Select Computer Account, and click Next.
  4. Open the Certificates folder. To see your Certificates, expand the tree to see the following folder: Console > Personal > Certificates.

Save as MMC File

If you don't want to repeat all of these steps every time you manage certificates, you can create a Certificate MMC file.
  1. Open the File menu.
  2. Select Save As.
  3. Save the Certificates.msc file on the desktop.
  4. In the future, open this file to go directly to the Certificates.
