Life Changes

Record a Life Change for an Event Registrant

A possible workaround when you can't change family positions.

If you try to make family position changes in a family where someone has registered for an upcoming event, Realm might ask you to wait until after the event in order to save the integrity of your records. If you need to make the changes anyway, follow these steps.

If the individual was originally registered with other family members, you may need to separate the registration.

  1. Remove the registration from the event.
  2. If this is a paid event that already has payments, refund the payments.
    Note: You can also manually apply previous payments to the new registrations if you prefer to not issue a refund.
  3. Make the life change.
  4. If the individual was registered with other people, and is now no longer part of the original household, you must separate the registration:
    1. Go to the event's page and click Individual Registrants.
    2. Next to the individual's name, click the ellipsisand select Separate registration.
    3. If Reactivate canceled registrations is selected, this will separately re-register individuals who are in different households.
    4. Click Save.
  5. If you didn't reactivate canceled registrations while separating the registration, re-register individuals for the event.
