New and Improved Features
- We made required changes to federal and state tax tables for 2024. We'll continue to update state tables as we receive them.Note: Some states require program changes, as noted in the tax table documentation, under State Tax Table Information. Please check your state(s) before loading the tax table update.
-
Visit the IRS website for more information on tax changes. For help on PDS tax procedures, see 2024 Tax Information.
- The IRS now requires that you to file electronically if you have 10 or more 1099 or W-2 forms, unless you've been granted a waiver or exemption (in rare cases). We added a message that warns if you try to print 10 or more forms.
- We updated the following forms with changes from Nelco: W-2, 1099-MISC, 1099-NEC, and 1096.
-

- We added an option so you can decide whether to add Account Numbers to the Description when importing journal entries. The Add Account Number to Description option is selected by default since this is the way it has worked previously. However, you can clear the option if needed.Tip: If you need to edit your file before importing, we recommend using Notepad (for Windows) or TextEdit (for Mac). Other editors, like OpenOffice or Excel, may interfere with formatting and cause unintended consequences during the import. For example, if one of your account numbers contains numbers and a period, it may try to format that and other values in the column as dollar amounts.
- Have you ever wanted to show information in a listing report, but the program didn't have a field for it? Now, you can add your own custom fields based on a calculation or code!
- For example, you may want to see the initials of all your employees in a separate column. There's not an existing field for initials, so you can add a custom field that creates them. See Add Custom Fields in Listings for steps.
-
You can also use your custom fields in Additional Selections! For example, only include employees in your listing if their initials contain the letter 'J'.
Corrections
- An error was displaying if you tried to enter a negative amount for a recurring journal entry.
