Preliminary Steps for Data Migration

You must be on the latest version. The cleanup process is only available in PDS Version 11. If you're using PDS OnDemand, you have the latest version and don't need to worry about this step. If you're using a desktop instance, you must update to the latest version first. You can do this from your PDS program's File menu or on the PDS Updates page.

Merge your PDS Church and Formation data. If you use both Church Office and Formation Office, you need to check if the program data is shared. If it is shared, you can continue with cleaning up your data. Otherwise, if it isn't shared and you want to migrate everything from both Church and Formation to MinistryPlatform, you'll need to merge the programs before cleaning up your data. Contact your Diocesan Point of Contact or Implementation Specialist for help scheduling your data merge.

Note: Diocesan SPoC(s): As the Single Point(s) of Contact, you should work with your parishes to install the latest version of PDS and determine if the Church Office and Formation Office data needs to be merged.

Once you've completed these steps, you can clean up your PDS data.
