Copy a Schedule

Copy an existing volunteer schedule so you can reuse its serving times, roles, and settings without carrying over volunteer assignments or the date range.

  • Only available to administrators and users who have the Manage Schedules permission.

If you regularly set up similar schedules, you can copy an existing one instead of building a new schedule from scratch. The copy keeps the original schedule's serving times, roles, and other settings, so you only need to adjust what's different. The volunteer assignments and the schedule's date range are not carried over.
  1. In the top-left corner, click your site name then Realm. Then click Volunteers/Serving > Volunteer Teams/Serving Teams
  2. Click the ellipsis icon next to the schedule, and select Copy.

An expandable image showing where the copy command is on the Schedule's user initerface.
The schedule opens on the Schedule Settings tab, named Copy of the original schedule's name. The serving times, roles, and other settings are copied, but the date range is blank.
  3. In Name your schedule, enter a name for the new schedule.
  4. Review the serving times and roles, and adjust them as needed.
  5. Select a start and end date for your schedule.
  6. In the Other Settings section, select whether you want to allow volunteers to add themselves to the schedule, volunteers to choose their own replacements, and whether volunteers are auto-accepted when assigned to a schedule.
  7. To save the schedule, click Save & Close. Or, if you want to begin assigning volunteers to the schedule, click Save & Start Assigning.
