Create a Product
You can create a product that's used to collect deposits for a paid event.
- Go to .
- Click New Product.
- Enter the information. See Product Fields for details on these.
- Click Save.
If you do not need additional options for this product, you're done! If you need to create options, see Option Groups and Prices.
Product Fields
- Product Name
- Required title for your Product. This name displays on the Event Details & Registration Widget, so make it clear and avoid jargon.
- Congregation

Optional value to ensure users are limited to locations allowed by global filter permissions.
- Description
- Enter a description to help make sure staff don't create the same product concept twice.
- Base Price
- Enter the price that all registrants pay. This can be $0 for free products.
- Deposit Price

If needed, enter a deposit price; that is, the portion of the base price that must be paid at registration. If entered, a price drop-down list displays when people are registering, with the Base Price as the default and the Deposit Price as an option. If the registrant chooses to pay the deposit, the balance can be paid later via My Invoices. If a deposit price is not enabled, the registrant only has the option to pay the full base price.Note:
- One of the following must be paid in order to register for a paid event: the deposit price, an amount higher than the deposit price, or the full base price.
- Registrants are only required to pay the deposit amount at the time of registration, even if they select option prices.
- Promo codes do not count toward a deposit payment if there is a balance remaining after the amount that the promo code took off.
- Active
- If set to Yes, the Product is available for event registration.
- Price Currency
- If your church accepts multiple currencies, be sure to specify the currency for this Product's prices so that users are not charged the incorrect amount. Values are stored under .
