SSL Certificates

SSL Certificate Installation

  1. Install Certificate.
    1. You can do this several ways, and it may vary per server version and certificate.
      Note: This is a technical process and requires server and certificate expertise. If you have trouble, we recommend you use our preferred partner, Higher Ground Technologies.
  2. Check the Certificate in IIS.
    1. Open the IIS Management Console.
    2. Select the website running MinistryPlatform.
    3. Click Bindings in the right-hand toolbar.
    4. Highlight the https binding and click Edit.
    5. Click the View button next to SSL Certificate.
      This brings up the details about the SSL Certificate. You can use the expiration date to ensure you selected the correct website certificate.
  3. Check the Certificate in your Browser.
    1. Open MinistryPlatform in your browser.
    2. Click the green lock symbol in the browser bar, and then look for a link labeled Certificate Information. You can once again verify the expiration.
  4. Configure it for MinistryPlatform.
    Note: This is important to ensure your software continues to work correctly.
