Your User Account
Your user menu shows options for the User Account and other features. To view the menu, hover over your user image or initials at the top right of MinistryPlatform.
User Profile
When you select User Account from the user menu, you can update your profile, manage social logins, and change your password. This window allows the current user to manage their account, which differs from the User record, where SPoCs and trusted staff can manage a user's information.
This window includes multi-lingual support, so the user can select the language to display for field labels (buttons, instructions, and so on). Current available languages are English (default), Mandarin (Simple Chinese), Portuguese, and Spanish.
Users can edit the following information in their profiles:
- Profile picture (if no photo is uploaded, the user's initials display instead)
- All parts of their name
- Gender
- Date of birth
- Marital status
- Phone numbers (changing mobile phone requires the user to confirm their password)
- Email address (changing this requires the user to confirm their password)
- Whether they want to opt in to receive text messages
- Time Zone (this is hidden for any users who don't have at least one security role)
- Locale (this is hidden for any users who don't have at least one security role)
- Communication Preferences
- Opt out of bulk email messages
- Opt in or out of text messages
- Unlist their email address
- Unlist their mobile phone number
- Unlist their contact details
- Social Logins
- Password
To save any changes, scroll down and click Save.
Users who have Setup Admin set to Yes on their User record will see a Reset Auth App button on their profile. They can use this to recycle the app pool if needed, like when setting up external login authentication.
Impersonating Users
Some users can impersonate a user using the Display Name shown in the masthead. This feature is available if the person's User record has Can Impersonate set to Yes.
