Copy Marriage Information

Copy common marriage fields from one spouse's record to another.

  • You'll need the Edit Individual permission.

If both spouses have a Realm profile, you can copy any of the following marriage data from one spouse's record to another: date, church/parish, spouse's name, verified, volume, page, entry, sponsors/witnesses, and officiant/clergy.

  1. Locate and open one of the spouse's records.
  2. On the Sacraments or Ordinances tab, add or edit the marriage record.
  3. Enter any relevant marriage information for this spouse.
  4. For Spouse's Name, select a profile from your database.
Note: Click the View Individual Profile icon to open the selected record in a new browser tab. This is a good way to make sure you have the correct spouse before creating the marriage record for them.
  5. Select Copy record data to the selected profile above.
  6. Click Save.

A new marriage record will be added for the spouse using the common information you entered. If a marriage record already exists for the spouse and you do no allow for multiple instances, the old record will be overwritten with the new marriage data.
