Widgets - Released May 13-14, 2024
This release includes improvements to event registration as well as a new integration for giving and payments.
Event Details & Registration
- *From the Idea Board*: Registrants can now pay only the deposit amount, even if they select option prices.
- We improved the event registration flow, including how promo codes, deposits, and payments are handled!
- If an event has a deposit, registrants can select whether they want to pay the deposit only, total cost, or a different amount that is greater than the deposit amount. If an event does not have a deposit, the registrant must pay the full amount.
- If an event is free or does not require payment, the registrant sees that their registration is complete, along with the details.
- If two people select the last remaining product option and register within seconds of each other, the person who clicked second will now see the message, "Some products are sold out" along with the product name.
- When registrants return to the My Invoices widget, they have the option to pay the remaining balance or an amount less than that.
- When registrants use a promo code, they can now go back and modify a registration as long as the promo code doesn't cover the entire amount and they haven't made a payment. When registering multiple people for a free event or if a promo code covers the entire amount, registrants will not be able to modify their registration.
- When registrants use a promo code (even if it covers more than the required deposit), they must pay the deposit amount to register.Note: The only exception is if the invoice total comes to $0 as a result of the promo code. For example, if the promo code is specifically set up to cover the total.
- Fixed an error that prevented a registration from being created if the option price quantity allowed was set to zero.
- Fixed an issue where blank Form Response records were being created if no form answers were provided during event registration. Now, no Form Response record is created unless someone fills it out during or after registration.
- If you're using the Vanco integration: Fixed an issue that occurred when a registrant made a payment successfully, but Vanco was unable to let MinistryPlatform know that. Now, after a successful payment, the Pay Now button is disabled to prevent accidental clicking, and the registrant will see the message, "Your payment was accepted! The system is still processing it, but there's nothing else you need to do. You can close this window."
Invoice Details & Payment
- We updated the message on the Invoice Details screen to account for three scenarios.
- When a registrant has paid in full or the event was free, they see "Your Registration is Complete! Review the details of your registration below."
- When someone is in the process of registering for a paid event, they see "Review and Pay - Please review your invoice, and click Pay Now to complete your registration."
- When the person is registered but still owes a balance, they see "Pay Remaining Balance - You have a balance due on this invoice. Choose how much you want to pay toward your balance, and click Pay Now."
- Fixed an issue where the Invoice record was not being updated correctly if a registrant edited their registration to add a promo code that covered the full amount after they registered.
My Invoices Widget
- *From the Idea Board*: Fixed an issue where the My Invoices widget would lock up if a promo code took off more than the deposit amount. If they were able to get to their invoice, it showed a negative balance due and they were not able to complete their payment.
- Fixed an issue where users who paid their deposit with a promo code were not able to access invoice to pay the remaining balance.
- Fixed an issue where the My Invoices widget was showing the full balance to be paid after the Invoice Status was manually set to Some Paid.
MP eGiving
Note: Diocesan SPoCs: We're working on a way to batch donations and send the parish/congregation ID with a batch, which will be available in a later release. So, before you jump in, keep an eye out for when MP eGiving will be ready for you!
