Tools - July 2024
We've added several enhancements, including a new background check integration for the Background Check Request Tool and new features for the Donations and Pledges Import Tool, and fixed various bugs.
Add A Payment Tool
- Fixed an issue where the Add A Payment Tool subtracted the same discount code twice. Better for your organization's bottom line!
Add/Edit Event Tool
- *NEW* "Product:" no longer displays in the Product Name when you add a product to an event. This may help your event registration invoices look a little cleaner - with a little less work!
Add/Edit Family Tool
- Fixed an issue where the tool didn't display information in the State field when you would add or edit an address.
Add/Edit Sacrament Tool
Note: This tool is available in Catholic instances only. But, we know that other denominations track sacraments and may need to mass enter information. If that's you, please let us know how we can serve your needs by entering your feedback on the Idea Board.
- *NEW* We've moved the Confirmation Saint field from the Shared Sacrament Details section to the Individual Sacrament Details section. That way, everybody can select their own saint!
- Fixed an issue where the tool deleted special characters in the Sacrament Place field when you clicked Save.
Background Check Request Tool
- We've moved Protect My Ministry to the Background Check Request Tool! See our Protect My Ministry integrations page for more information.
- You can now use BIS in the Background Check Request Tool! See our BIS integrations page for more information.
- Fixed an issue where using the First_Name merge field returned the display name in the Message Template email requesting Contacts to submit a background check.
Certification Tool
- Fixed an issue where a 500 error displayed when you used the Certification Tool to submit certification requests to MinistrySafe.
Connection Card Tool
- Fixed an issue where the Audit Log didn't record changes made by the Connection Card Tool on behalf of the User. Now you'll know who did what for whom!
Create Batch Tool
- Fixed an issue where you could create, finalize, and deposit batches for donations assigned to a default contact.
Donations and Pledges Import Tool
- *NEW* If you selected an existing Import Template, the tool now automatically selects the appropriate corresponding values for the Match Programs To and/or Match Donor Record To fields based on what's defined in the existing Import Template. Fields you can't select are now grayed out. The best part? If you decide you want to create a new Import Template instead, simply select that option in the tool - those fields are no longer grayed out, and you can start building your new Import Template.
- *NEW* When mapping fields between MinistryPlatform and your import file, you used to be able to select a value for multiple fields, even if you already selected that value. Now, you can only select the fields that you didn't already map to another field. This should help reduce errors when importing your pledges and donations!
- Fixed an issue where you could only reimport an error file one time. Now you can download as many reimport files as you need to ensure your files upload to MinistryPlatform correctly.
- Fixed an issue where, if you set a default value for Payment Type, the tool wouldn't insert the default payment type into blank (null) fields in the import file.
- Fixed an issue where, if you mapped a field for the optional field Source Code, the tool wouldn't leave blank (null) fields empty.
- Fixed an issue where, if you mapped a field for the optional field Source Code AND you set a default for this field, the tool wouldn't insert the default source code into blank (null) fields in the import file.
Template Editor Tool
- *NEW* You can now include Snippets in the Template Editor Tool! Once you drag-and-drop your content into the Template, go to and select the Snippet you want to include.
Trim Selection Tool
- Fixed an issue where the Trim Selection Tool didn't remove all records if the selection was larger than 1,000 on the Participants and Donors pages.
- Fixed an issue where the the tool didn't remove all Group Participants from a selection at one time.
