View App Analytics

  • You must have the PocketPlatform App Manager security role to do this.

You can view analytical insights through the visualization dashboard in the App Manager. The dashboard shows engagement trends across multiple dimensions, and you can filter the data to focus on what you're looking for.

  1. In MinistryPlatform, click the Bookmarks icon bookmark, and click PocketPlatform App Manager.
The App Manager opens in a new browser tab.
  2. Click View App Analytics.
    The visualization dashboard displays.
  3. If needed, change the settings at the top. Graphs update as soon as you make a change.
    • Aggregate Size controls the density of the data you see in the graphs. For example, if you're only looking at one month, you might select Day to see each day's data; whereas, if you're looking at six months of data, you might select Week for better readability.
    • Start Date and End Date determine the date range of your data to show in the graphs.
  4. On a graph, you can hover over a date to see specific data for that day or week. If you selected the Aggregate Size of Day, this can help you answer daily-basis questions, like "How many users opened the Sermon Notes last Sunday morning?". If you selected the Aggregate Size of Week, this can help you answer weekly-basis questions, like "How many active users did we have this week versus last week?".
  5. For each graph, you can click the title to see all the data in that dimension. For a deeper dive, you can search the data. The graph and data grid update as soon as you enter a search keyword.
    • Screen View shows how many users interacted with each app screen, including the Dashboard, HomeScreen, HelpScreen, and so on.
    • Screen Detail View shows how many users interacted with each entity on a detail screen, including things like a Summer Camp event on the Event Detail screen or a Book of John plan on the Reading Plan screen.
    • User shows how many users interacted with your app.
    • Gender shows how many female and male users interacted with your app.
  6. If needed, you can click Export Data as CSV at the bottom of the data grid to export a dimension's data.
  7. To get back to the analytics dashboard, click the navigation link at the top.
  8. When you're finished viewing analytics, you can click HOME at the top to go back to the App Manager.
