Create a View for Default Contact Records

Instructions to create a view to help you find records assigned to the default contact record.

It's important to regularly clean your data. One way to clean your data is to reassign records from the default contact record to the appropriate record in MinistryPlatform. One of the easiest ways to find records assigned to the default contact record? Create a view!

  1. In the navigation menu, click the page you want to add the view to.
    Contributions > Donations
  2. In the view drop-down list, click New/Copy View.
  3. Enter a title and description for your view.
    Title: Fix: Default Contact Donations, Description: Find donations assigned to ***Default, Contact
  4. Select a user group to share this view with, or select the System View checkbox to make this view available to all your MinistryPlatform users.
  5. Drag and drop the Donor ID column name to the Form Layout tab, select the = comparison, and enter 1 for the search term.
  6. Drag and drop the Display Name column name to the Form Layout tab, select the = comparison, and enter ***Default, Contact for the search term.
  7. Optional: Drag and drop any additional columns you want to display in your search results.
  8. Click Save Query.

Now when you select this view on the page, the system will pull records assigned to the default contact record. You can then correct those records as needed.
