Accessing Group Connect

There are a few ways to access Group Connect.

Copy the URL below, paste it into your browser, replace "[churchname]" with your church's name in your MP base URL, and go!

https://[churchname].cloudapps.ministryplatform.cloud/connect/group

Via MinistryPlatform

If you can log in to the Platform, you can use the Connect Suite bookmark. Click the Bookmarks icon bookmark, and click Life Suite. Once you're in Connect Suite, click Group Connect in the navigation menu to see the dashboard.

From My Groups Widget

Group leaders, primary contacts, and participants will see a Group Connect button in the My Groups widget. This takes them directly to the selected group and passes authentication from the widget.

From PocketPlatform

Group leaders, primary contacts, and participants will see a Group Connect link in your app menu. This takes them to the in-app browser inside of PocketPlatform and passes authentication from the app.
Note: Guests cannot see the menu link for Group Connect or any other features you have set up for groups.

Notification Email

If leaders receive attendance reminder notification emails, that email contains a link that takes them to Group Connect Info for their group. You can navigate to each menu section directly.
Important: Update the notification path so your attendance reminder notification emails include a link to Group Connect. See Group Attendance to learn how.

You can access Group Connect by direct URL, but it needs to include the Group ID to take leaders directly to their group. After you get it set up, you can send leaders the link using the Group Connect Login Snippet and send the message from the Group Participants page. The correct Group ID displays automatically.

Set Up a Group ID for Direct Group URL

  1. In the navigation menu, click System Setup > Pages.
  2. Open the Group Participants page record, and click Edit Record.
  3. In the Default Field List, add ,Group_ID_Table.[Group_ID] AS Group_ID to the end of the text.
  4. Click Save.
It may take a moment to save this change.
  5. In the navigation menu, click Communications > Communication Snippets.
  6. Open the *GroupConnect Login snippet record, and click Edit Record.
  7. Click the HTML icon forward slash between a greater than symbol and a lesser than symbol to switch to Source View.
  8. In the href, where it has your Group Connect URL, replace the "0" at the end of the snippet value with [Group_ID].
Example showing the *GroupConnect Login snippet record with the Value as <a href="https://church.cloudapps.ministryplatform.cloud/connect/group/[Group_ID]...
  9. Click Save.

Here's an example of what your new Snippet should look like: https://churchname.cloudapps.ministryplatform.cloud/connect/group/[Group_ID]

Tip: We recommend using the snippet or navigating to Group Connect from the My Groups widget to ensure you are always taken to the latest version and a specific group.
