Draw a Travel Polygon

Travel polygons map out the travel distance in minutes from a set point on your map.

You can draw a polygon that estimates driving, walking, or bicycling times for up to four distances from a set point, such as your church's physical building.

Travel polygons are a great way to see demographics within a certain drive time of your church, so you can effectively minister to those communities.

To learn more, watch this video.

  1. On the Navigation Bar, click Shapes.
  2. In the Control Center, expand Travel Polygons.
  3. Select Driving, Walking, or Bicycling.
  4. Under Starting Location, enter your starting point. This can be your church's address, your current location, or a set point on the map.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Under Time Contours, enter the time in minutes you want to represent within your polygon. You can define up to four time contours, each with a different color and for up to 60 minutes. For example, you could define a 10, 15, 20, and 30 minute drive time from your church.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Under Done, your travel polygon's travel time estimates display. Select your polygon's Resolution.
  9. Click Draw.
Your travel polygon displays on the map, and each travel time segment displays under Selection Information and Selections and Drawings.

You can zoom in or out on the map, change the map type, view layers, plot people, or build predefined or demographics reports based on your travel polygon.
