Split Households
Separate a Household into multiple Households using the Split Household Tool, provide separate giving statements, and display individuals in multiple Households.
You may need to split a Household into two separate Households when a young adult comes of age or when couples divorce. Whatever the reason, the Split Household Tool can help! See Split Household Tool for steps.
Separate Giving Statements
If a couple wants separate giving statements, you don't have to split the Household. Instead, change both Donor records to Individual statements.
Display in Multiple Households
Sometimes, Contacts need to be in more than one Household, most often to accommodate check-in by separated parents or additional family members, such as a grandparent. In this case, you don't need to split the Household. Instead, open the Contact record and go to the Other Households tab to associate the Contact with additional Households.
