Get Started with Compliance
Tips and tricks to get you started with compliance for your organization in MinistryPlatform.
- Add a value in the Months to Expire field for each Background Check Type your church uses. Tip: Know exactly when your participant is no longer compliant! If your members must resubmit a form periodically, enter a value in months to the Months Till Expires field on the Custom Form record. For example, for an annual ministry agreement, enter 12 into this field. A routine runs nightly to enter the corresponding Expires field on the Form Responses with the appropriate expiration date.
- Create the certification types that work for your church, like a training video or class. Each Certification Type can have its own expiration time period.
- Create service requirements for group roles.
- Add requirement information for your volunteers.
- Background Check: Information is added through the nightly routine.
- Certification Type: Create a Certification record for the volunteer.
- Milestone: Add the required Milestone record for the volunteer.
- Form: Is added automatically when the volunteer completes the required form.
- Use the Compliance page to track at-a-glance whether participants have completed the necessary requirements.
- There is a list of volunteers for each group or group role. Volunteers may be listed more than once.
- As participants complete the requirements, each Requirement field updates in real-time. The requirements can include:
- Not Required: This Requirement is not required for the Group Participant.
- Missing: This Requirement is required but not present for the Group Participant.
- Passed: This Requirement is required and present for the Group Participant.
- Expired: This Requirement is required but expired for the Group Participant.
- Group leaders can track volunteer compliance in Volunteer Connect.
