Login, Create Account, & Password Reset

How you configure your Domain and Account determines how users can verify an account, log in, and reset their password. So set yourself up for success and review your Domain and Accounts settings to keep everyone happily accessing the Platform. Review or set up your:

  • Text Message Configuration,
  • User Account Settings, and
  • User Account Emails.

Configuring Text Setup and Login

Confirm or add the following information to your Domain page. Once these are in place, your users will be able to verify their account or log in via text:

  • SMS Server Name: Twilio Account SID.
  • SMS Server Password: Twilio Auth Token.
  • SMS Server Callback Secret: A generated GUID value.
    Tip: We recommend using a GUID Generator to generate a random value.

User Account Settings

  • Enable Simple Signon: Allows a user to log in with a mobile phone number or email address instead of a user name. Set this to Yes. If you set this to No, users can still reset their password using a mobile phone number or email address.
  • MFA Required: You can require all or some of your users to use Multi-Factor Authentication.

User Account Messages

Emails

  • Create Account Message Template: The confirmation email sent to new Users when they click Create an Account on the login screen, if email is selected. Contains the [Link] token that the User can click to finish creating their account.
  • Recover Account Message Template: The confirmation email sent to Users when they click Forgot Password on the login screen, if email is selected. Contains the [Link] and [Login_Link] tokens that the User can click to reset their password or sign in with a one-time link.
  • Login Verification Code (Email) Template: The email sent to Users with the multi-factor authentication code, if email is selected. Contains the [CODE] token that the User needs to enter on the MinistryPlatform sign in page within ten minutes of being sent.

Text

  • Create Account Verification Text Template: The confirmation text sent to new Users when they click Create an Account on the login screen, if text is selected. Contains the [Link] token that the User can click to finish creating their account.
