Export Text Opt-in Records

Download a file of everyone in your site who has opted in to text messages. Keep this file as proof of consent.

Realm automatically tracks who has opted in to receive text messages. While you may never need to reference these records, there are a few situations where having an exported copy on hand can be valuable.

  • Compliance and Legal Protection
  • Auditing and Troubleshooting
  • Continuity and Backup
  • Follow up with individuals who have not opted in during a campaign
Tip: If you only need to see who has opted out of texts, use Export the Text Opt-Out List instead.
  1. In the top-left corner, click your site name then Realm. Then click Communications > Text Messaging.
  2. Just under the remaining texts dialog, click Export Opt-in Records.
  3. Select a location on your computer to store this file. Then click Save.

The .csv file downloads to your computer and opens in any spreadsheet program. It lists the people who have consented to receive text messages from your site, along with the date and method of consent.

Note: Store the file in a safe place with the rest of your church's communication records. You may need to produce proof of consent if a recipient or a carrier raises a question about a text message you sent.
