Upload to Google Calendar

You must give PDS access to the Google Calendar(s) you want to upload information to.

If you track interactions with people, you can convert your letters, calls, and visits into events that you upload to Google Calendar™.

Note: This feature is only available with the Orthodox installation of Church Office.
Once you've authorized access, you can upload information to Google Calendar. You can select which calendar to upload in this process.
  • If you use one calendar for all your events, you can upload all the items at one time.
  • If you use separate calendars for different events, run this process separately for each calendar.
  1. Locate the appropriate family or member, and click Letters, Visits, Etc in the navigation pane.
  2. Click Upload to Google Calendar, then click Next.
  3. Select the item(s) to upload.
  4. Edit the times and locations as needed, then click Next.
Note: By default, the start/end times are 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and the location is the individual's home address.
  5. Select which calendar(s) to upload the items to, then click Next.
  6. When you're ready to upload the items, click Upload.

Example of a Google Calendar Upload

Let's look at an example. Say you have the following interactions for an individual.

If you use one calendar for all events:

Upload all the items at one time. For example, you may have one calendar for all of Father Frank's events.

  • Select all the events to add to Father Frank's calendar. In this case, we're selecting all three that display in this list since Father Frank is taking care of these.

  • Select Father Frank's calendar.

  • The events display in Google Calendar when you select Father Frank's Calendar.

If you use separate calendars for different events:

Run this process separately for each calendar. For example, you may have one calendar for meetings, one for notes and reminders, and one for visits.
  • On the first run, select the first item(s) to add to the appropriate calendar. Here, we're adding the reminder to send a note to the Notes & Reminders calendar.

  • On the second run, select the next item(s) to add to the next calendar. Here, we're adding the meeting about starting a men's group to the Meetings calendar.

  • On the last run, select the final item(s) to add to the last calendar. Here, we're adding the hospital visit to the Visits calendar.

  • Once you run the process for each item, three times in this case, each one displays on its specific calendar.
