FAQs - Data

Here you'll find answers to privacy and security questions we've been asked by prospective or new MissionInsite ministry partners.

Who can view or access data we upload?

MissionInsite administrators in your church can view and access your data. Depending on your settings, your regional agency or denominational office may also have access.

Other churches, even within your regional agency, do not have permission to view or access your data.

Do you sell or share the data we upload to other organizations?

No. MissionInsite fully understands our obligation to protect the privacy of personal congregant data and any confidential client data.

We do not divulge any client-provided information or confidential client data.

How secure is the church data we upload in People Plot?

Your church's People Plot data is very secure and only visible to your church's administrative users and your denominational agency (if applicable). Other churches within your agency or denomination have no access to your data.

What are your data sources?

Our data sources include Synergos, Experian, Epsilon, and the American Beliefs Study Report.

Synergos tracks population data by ZIP+4 and also provides data in the Custom and Predefined Demographics Reports.

Our Mosaic USA data comes from Experian. Mosaic data suggests ministry applications based on 71 distinct household types and their lifestyles, demographics, and concerns.

Epsilon provides our Address Lists and Neighbor Center data, including household level demographic information.

The American Beliefs Study Report is a national religious survey conducted and updated every four years.

How accurate is the data you provide?

To ensure accurate data, our team updates MissionInsite data several times per year. We update population monthly using ZIP+4 to confirm mail delivery, while other demographics vendors update annually.

Our Synergos data accurately projects population data compared to actual census numbers. In 2010, Synergos' national population estimate was 308,748,960, while the United States Census estimate was 308,745,538. These estimates differ by 3,422 people, or only 0.0011%.

How often is each database updated?

MissionInsite releases several updates each year.

  • We update Synergos/PopStat data every three months. Population/ZIP+4 information, which confirms mail delivery, is updated monthly.

  • Experian's Mosaic USA Project is updated annually. Epsilon's Address List/Neighbor Center is updated every three months.

  • The American Beliefs Study Report is a national religious survey conducted and updated every four years. Our report reflects 2021's survey results.
