Help Center - Released March 25, 2024
We know it's hard to move away from what you're used to. The Knowledge Base has been there for you a long time, but there's a new Help Center in town. Check out all the reasons you'll be glad you made the move!
A Help Center For Everyone
- The KB used more technical language because it was originally intended for more technical users. The Help Center is for everyone on your team, from volunteers and data entry clerks to admins and SPoCs.
- We've updated much of the language to be more friendly and accessible to casual users. But don't worry, Super Users — we still provide all the technical details you want to know, where it's appropriate.
How-To Topics
- The KB contained many topics that provided detailed conceptual information. Some articles may have also included instructions on how to complete a related task. While we tried to keep much of the organization similar to what you're familiar with, we did pull out tasks into their own step-by-step topics. This makes them easier to find so you can spend your time completing tasks instead of searching for steps!
Example of a task topic:
Widget Configurator
- Remember having to go to a different KB article for each widget you wanted to set up or change? Now, you can quickly select the widget you want to configure — in one place! The interactive Widget Configurator is easier to get to (available on the MP help dashboard), and you can use it for any widget you want.
Example of configuring a widget:
MP Releases and News
- Stay informed of what's new and what's next for your instance of MinistryPlatform with the latest release notes. And see news about the product itself, new partnerships and integrations, services we offer, upcoming events, and more. All the resources you need are here at your fingertips!
Video Learning
- The Help Center provides a handful of short videos that relate directly to a feature or task in MinistryPlatform. You can find these on the MP help dashboard and on relevant topics throughout the Help Center. (Note that we're currently working on creating more of these to better assist you with common and complex tasks.)
- Also check out the MinistrySmart Academy, where you'll find our longer form videos like recorded webinars and live events. This is the place to go when you want that deep dive!
Better Search Options
- There's a lot of information in the MP Help Center. Find it faster with the search bar! Enter key words and phrases that relate to the information you're looking for, or search for the exact title of a topic if you know it. Use quotation marks to better narrow your results.
Example of the search bar:
- You can event filter your search results to find a particular type of content, such as FAQ or Best Practices. And, find related topics that include a Video or link to a Webinar.
Example of search filters:
Provide Your Feedback
- We want to hear from you! If you see something in a help topic that could be better, let us know. At the bottom of every help topic, you'll see the question Was this article helpful? with options for Yes or No.
- You might choose No if you see something like a typo, missing information, or perhaps an opportunity for us to include a screenshot for a better understanding. Choose Yes if you found an article particularly helpful or want to see more like it.
- Once you answer the question, be sure to share your feedback so we know what to do to improve it. The more detail you provide about why the content was or was not helpful, the better; so don't be afraid to tell us!
- If you'd like, you can provide your email address so we can follow up with your on your feedback. This is helpful if we need clarification on something you mentioned. We promise we'll only use your contact info for this purpose.

Switch Between Products
- If you use another ACST product alongside MinistryPlatform, like MissionInsite or Realm Accounting, you may already be familiar with this Help Center. Now that MP is here, you can easily switch between your help resources. Use the drop-down list at the top left of any help topic to go to another product's help.
