User Removal Requests

Due to privacy regulations, app users can request that you remove their information from PocketPlatform.

Users can find the option for Close my account on the Settings screen. When a user submits a request from the app, a Feedback Entry record is created in MinistryPlatform with a Feedback Type of User Removal Request. This does not automatically delete the record, but someone is assigned a task and notified to follow up with the user. Your church can decide how to handle the request from there.

We recommend you reach out to the user, find out their goal in requesting the removal, then proceed with the appropriate data cleanup. For example, if the user had donated, you may want to keep their Contact, Donor, and Donation records, and you can just delete their User record. If the user is a one-time guest who doesn't interact with your church on a regular basis, you may decide to delete all their records.
