Create Journeys & Milestones
You can create the journeys that people will engage in at your church and the milestones they'll complete along the way. For example, you might have a baptism journey with milestones that track if participants have completed their baptism class, interview, testimony, and finally, the baptism service itself.

You've created a journey! Now you can create and add milestones to it.
Create a Milestone
Note: Before you create a Milestone, keep in mind the following:
- Milestones should not be congregation-specific. Milestones are generally important accomplishments that apply to anyone participating at the church, regardless of congregation. When you assign a milestone to a participant, you can indicate the program and event they participated in when they completed the milestone. You can infer the congregation where the milestone occurred from the program or event.
- Milestones may be ministry-specific. This may be helpful if one ministry assigns the milestone and follows-up with those who complete it. Often, a single ministry manages an entire journey.
- You can create milestones in two places:
- In the navigation menu, click Milestones.
- In the navigation menu, click . Open the Journey, and click the Milestones tab.
- Click New Milestone.
- Complete the Milestone fields.
- Click Save.
The milestone displays in the Milestone list for that journey. You can now assign people to the milestone.
Milestone Fields
A reference of the fields you'll find when you create a Milestone.
- Milestone Title
- The name of the accomplishment logged for Participants and members at your church.
- Description
- A detailed explanation of the accomplishment. This should include what it means and who should pursue this step.
- Journey
- The Journey that contains this Milestone. This is the collection of Milestones related to the same ministry process, like assimilation or spiritual development.
- Next Milestone
- The Milestone that an individual should accomplish after completing this Milestone.
- Follow Up Notes
- Any actions that your staff should take to follow up with individuals who complete this Milestone.
- Letter Body
- Add a paragraph for the letter that individuals who complete this Milestone receive. This text displays in the Selected Milestone Letter report, available on the Milestones Assigned page.
- Letter From
- Add a closing paragraph for the letter that individuals who complete this Milestone receive. This text displays in the Selected Milestone Letter report, available on the Milestones Assigned page.
- Sort Order
- The order this Milestone should display in relation to other Milestones in the same Journey. Reports and views take this sort order into account.
- Discontinued
- Default is No. Set to Yes if you no longer use or assign this Milestone.
- On Connection Card
- Default is No. Set to Yes if you can assign this Milestone using the Connection Card tool. This way, volunteers can perform data entry following a worship service.
- Icon
- The icon that displays for this Milestone's "badge" in PocketPlatform if you've set up the User Goals recipe. Enter the icon name as it displays in the Font Awesome library.
