Fix Data Discrepancies

  • Back up your data.
  • Everyone must exit the PDS programs. Only one user with sufficient rights can be in the program when running this process. Ask all other users to exit and wait until the process is completed before reopening PDS.

Why is this required? Data files can develop discrepancies as a result of improper system shutdown or other computer complications. Completing this step helps minimize data integrity related issues during your migration to MinistryPlatform.

What will this process do? This process can repair some small problems with the data and point out other issues with your data that may need to be addressed.

How long will this take? This process can take anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes to complete.

  1. Make sure no other users are in PDS by clicking the Who is Running icon blue outline of two people at the top of your program.
Tip: If needed, you can notify and dismiss other users.
  2. On the File menu in your PDS program, click Test/Fix/Clean Up Data > Fix Data Discrepancies.
  3. If the "index out of date" error displays, select Reindex Tables.
  4. To remove empty space in the data tables, select Pack Tables.
  5. Click Fix Data.
After the process is finished, a summary report displays.
  6. Print the summary, and review the details of any issues found, what was fixed, and what may still need attention. If you're unsure how to resolve any remaining issues, call PDS Support at 1-877-737-4457.
  7. Make a note of the date you completed this process.

All data requirements for migrating should be met at this point.

See Confirm Your Data Cleanup to be sure you're ready for the data migration.
