Ways to Classify Products

ACST classifies products by Product Hierarchy, Category as defined by the Personalized Ministry Environment construct, Accounting Types, and overall Solution. These classifiers allow products and accounts to be filtered, grouped, and aggregated in various ways. Follow the links below to discover more about each product classifier.

Product Hierarchy

The product hierarchy is a way to describe products based the product family to which they belong. It includes product group, application, category, and asset. Asset (or Product) is the most fundamental element to which all classifiers are assigned.

Product Category

Category classifies products based on the Personalized Ministry Environment (PME) and assigns one of the following to each asset: Cornerstone, Extender, Accelerator, Assistance, and Expertise. Category allows aggregation across product groups.

Accounting Type

ACST uses an accounting type hierarchy to track sources of revenue. This is done by assigning up to three levels of accounting types to assets. Top level types include Subscription, One Time Fees, and Transactional Fees.

Solution

Solutions represent broad classifications of products offered by ACST to the faith based market. Examples are ChMS, Accounting, Payment Processing, and Facilities Management. The same solution can be served by multiple product groups. In other words, ACST offers more than one product to the market for single solutions. Solution allows aggregation across product groups and Applications.
