Checking Account Already Exists

This troubleshooting guide provides a solution for the error "This checking account already exists" encountered when adding a checking account in Bank Account Maintenance in Accounts Receivable.

When adding a checking account in Bank Account Maintenance in Accounts Receivable, this error displays:

"This checking account already exists."

  • Products affected: Accounts Receivable

  • Versions affected: Any

This occurs due to a blank line in the table awGLIndvAcct.

  1. Perform a financial backup.
  2. Log in using your ACS username and password.
  3. Under Data Options, select Financial Data Backup.
  4. Optional: Under Additional Options, select Verify Backup.
  5. Under Configuration, note the Backup Destination Directory. To change the location, click Lookup.
  6. Click Backup.
  7. In the Select Datasets window, clear any datasets you do not want to back up, then click OK.
