Add a Profile Field for MinistrySafe Training

You can use a Multi-List Custom Profile field to track your staff members and volunteers' MinistrySafe training courses.

You'll need the Manage Profile Fields permission.If you're unable to complete this task, contact your administrator to discuss your permissions. See Responsibilities for more information.
We recommend using Pathways to track each volunteers' MinistrySafe course completions, background checks, and the dates for each. However, some administrators may not have access to Pathways.

Multi-List fields let you select more than one value in the drop-down list, which is helpful since your child safety requirements likely include several courses and a background check.

With a multi-list custom profile field, anyone with the

View Details for Individuals permission can see completed courses.
  1. In the top-left corner, click your site name then Realm. Then click Profiles > Settings.
  2. On the Profile Fields tab, click Add Profile Field.
  3. In the Label field, enter the field name you want to display on the profile page. For example, you could enter Child Safety Training, since you're tracking child safety courses and requirements. If different groups have different requirements, you could set up and name fields for those volunteers, such as Nursery Workers or VBS Volunteers.
  4. In the Type drop-down list, select MultiList.
  5. In the Display For drop-down list, select which type of profile this field displays on. For example, you can select only People and Adults to ensure this field doesn't display for church, children, or business records.
  6. Select Yes or No for each option.
  7. Click Save.
Your field displays on the profile's Info tab, under Personal Information.
