If you're part of the Preferred Client Program, you can download the latest desktop version in the Client Portal.

PDS Formation Office 11.3D, released for desktop 5-19-26 and OnDemand 5-21-26, offers the following enhancements.

New and Improved Features

Grade Promotion for Young Adults
  • You can now promote members marked as Young Adult during the Grade Promotion process! There's a new option for Promote members with type of Young Adult. So, you can promote just children, just young adults, or both at the same time.

Example showing the Grade Promotion process with options for "Promote members with type of Child" and "Promote members with type of Young Adult" along with columns in the grid for "Change Type to Young Adult" and "Change Type to Adult"

  • If you choose to promote young adults, you'll see a new column in the grid for Change Type to Adult. This is useful for people graduating college. In the promotion list, you can select the new grade levels and update the Member Type.

Example showing the Grade Promotion List with a column for "Member Type" where you can choose from Child, Young Adult, or Adult

Post Student Remarks
  • Now, you can post general remarks, confidential remarks, and/or special circumstances to student and/or family member records. You can choose whether to add new remarks to the existing ones or replace all existing remarks with a new one. For steps, see Post Student Remarks.

Example of the quick posting showing the list of remarks to add or update for each student

Remove Old Interactions
Remove Service/Retreat Dates
  • There's a new process to delete service/retreat entries from student records. Choose a date range and narrow down the list of students to include. After building the list, you can select which entries should be deleted. For steps, see Remove Service or Retreat Dates.

Example of the Delete Service/Retreats process showing the list of service/retreats to delete with the service/retreat date and description listed for each student

Overpayment Alert
  • In the Payment/Donation Entry quick posting, you are now alerted if the amount you're posting will cause an overpayment. The program uses a family's rates to determine if the payment you enter is higher than the remaining balance. So, for example, the alert would not display if the family has fees due, and they "overpay" but it covers the fees. That said, this alert should help you in most overpayment scenarios!
Class List Phones and Emails
  • We added phone and email information to the Class List.

Example of the Class List showing columns for Family Phone, Phone Type, Phone Unlisted, Email, Email Type, and Email Unlisted

  • Family and parent/guardian email addresses also display in the printed list. Click Print in the Class List window to see this report.

Example of the printed list showing email addresses for the family and for each parent/guardian

Itemized Student Attendance Listing
  • We created a new report that's similar to the Student Attendance Listing but also shows the Days Excused, Days Unexcused, and Days Tardy. You can find this under Student Reports > Listing Reports > Student Attendance Listing - Itemized.

Example of the new report showing columns for Days Present, Days Absent, Days Excused, Days Unexcused, and Days Tardy for each student

Better Breakdown Options for Weekly Report
  • For the Weekly Breakdown by Amount Categories report, we made the Breakdown Options window easier to use. The dollar ranges now match more closely with what you see in the final report.

Example showing the Breakdown Options window with the dollar amount ranges alongside the report with the same dollar amount ranges

  • As you enter the high dollar value, the low dollar value for the next range updates. This way, you can set up the ranges you want—exactly how you will see them in the report.
Father and Mother Names on Sacramental Certificates
  • We updated the way sacramental certificates pull information for a member who is not a head or spouse in the family. Previously, the Father and Mother lines on certificates only printed if the Father and Mother fields were entered in the member's Sacraments window on the General Information tab. Now, if those fields are not entered, the program will try to detect the father's name and/or mother's name from the family record or head/spouse records. If that information is found, the names will print on the certificate.
  • This change applies to most of the certificates for baptism, confirmation, first communion, first confession, and OCIA. Note, however, if you run certificate reports from the Sacramental Register and the record is not linked to a member, the names cannot be detected and the Father and Mother lines will only print if their names are entered on the SR record.

Data Points on Dashboard Graphs
  • From the Dashboard, you can now hover over a data point on a graph to see its value.

Example showing the Family Count line graph with the mouse hovered over a data point that says, "215 Family Count - 2019"
