Set Up a Physical Card Template

Format a card template so the system can properly scan and upload information from this type of card in the future.

  • You must be a Growth Method administrator to do this.
  • You need a hard copy of the connection card you want to upload.
With Growth Method, you can scan in a blank card, map the fields to your ChMS, and then scan in cards completed by your church attendees for our Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to read. For example, you have a contact information card that has fields for the person's first name, last name, phone number, and email address. You'll scan a blank version of that card into Growth Method and establish the location and area of the different contact fields. Then, using that template, you'll upload your completed cards into Growth Method, and the system scans the card and uploads the its information into the appropriate fields in Growth Method.
  1. Click Cards > Card Templates.
  2. Click Setup A Template.
  3. Enter the Template Name, select a Campus from the drop-down list, and enter a Description for the template.
  4. Optional: To not import the template's results into F1, select the Make this template "export only" check box.
  5. Click Browse Files to upload a black and white copy of your connection card to use as a template.
  6. Click Save.
