Build Your Website With Realm Widgets

Realm widgets help to automatically keep your website information up-to-date!

What is a Widget?

A widget is a block of content you can add to your website that provides information or interaction for website visitors. For example, you can add a widget that shows information about an event that your Church is hosting.

What are Realm widgets?

In Refresh Websites, you’ll find a number of widgets that are specific to Realm. These widgets are synced with Realm data, which means when you place a Realm widget on your website, it will always be up-to-date with the information you enter in Realm.

For example, in the case of the event widget, you might decide you need to change the event’s time. When you make this change to the event in Realm, the widget on your website will automatically update to match Realm’s data.

This means that you don’t have to spend extra time updating your website. It’s already done for you!

Which widgets are Realm widgets?

When you edit your website, you’ll see a long list of widgets to choose from. So, which widgets are the Realm widgets?

Realm widgets include:

  • Events List

  • Single Event

  • Groups List

  • Giving Form

  • Custom Calendar (Using Google Calendars)

  1. Create a custom calendar within Realm.
  2. Copy the subscribe link for the custom calendar within Realm.
  3. Use the public calendar link to subscribe to the custom calendar in Google Calendar (see the instructions in the Use a link to add a public calendar section).
  4. Create a Google Calendar widget for your website using the calendar you just subscribed to.

How do I create a BoxCast widget?

ACS Technologies has partnered with BoxCast to provide a streaming and video solution as a widget you can add to your Refresh website.

Using this, you can broadcast live streams of your weekly services that people can watch directly from your website. Or, you can create widgets that showcase your BoxCast video channel, or a specific video hosted on BoxCast.

When adding a new widget to your website, you can search for "BoxCast" in the widget panel to find and create the video widget. To learn more, see the BoxCast help documentation.

Before you can do this, you must first have a BoxCast subscription. For more information on how to subscribe, click here.
