How Do I Reply When People Email Our Website?

Learn how to respond to emails received from your website's contact form submissions.

You may receive emails from people who have "emailed your website". What you are seeing is an email from a form submission on your site. When your contact form was added to your site, someone entered your email address to the contact form as an address that receives these submission notifications. There may be more than one email address receiving notifications.
  1. To reply directly from the form submission, look in the email you received from the contact form submission. You should see an option called Reply to Customer. Click this option and it automatically populates the person's email address in the "To" field.
If the customer provided multiple email addresses, only the first one will be used. Also, when replying this way, the email might be marked as spam, depending on the submitter's email and settings.
  2. Alternatively, to ensure the person receives your response, consider copying and pasting the person's email address and sending a new email instead.
