Configure Printer for Wireless Connectivity
Now that you used a USB to set up your printer, it's time to enable wireless connectivity.
- In the Zebra Setup Utilities window, click Configure Printer Connectivity, then select Wireless.
- Click Next.
- In the IP address window, you must assign an IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway (router IP address) for your printer.
- Select Static.
- Enter a hostname, which is a descriptive name for your printer on your network. For example, if it's a dedicated printer for the nursery, you might assign Nursery1 as a hostname.
- Enter your IP settings.
- Click Next. The Define Radio Settings window displays.
- Click Next to accept the default settings.
- In the Define Country and Channel List window, select your country.
- Click Next.
- In the Wireless settings window:
- Enter your ESSID.
- In the Security mode drop-down list, select the appropriate encryption protocol for your wireless network.
- Click Next. A Security settings window displays according to the security mode you selected in the previous window.
- Select String, enter your PSK name as a string.Note: To enter the PSK name in hex format, speak with your network administrator or IT technician.
- Click Next. The Advanced wireless settings window displays.
- To access detailed options for your wireless settings, click Advanced Settings.
- When finished, click Next. The Final stream window displays the connectivity configuration settings that will be sent to the printer.
- Click Next. The Send data window displays.
- Select Printer.
- Click Finish.
- Turn off the printer, and turn it back on. Wait about 15 seconds to ensure the LCD screen on the printer displays the static IP address and the signal strength.
