Delete Archived Families

CAUTION: This process alters data. We recommend backing up your data before proceeding.

To keep your data clean and accurate, you can delete archived records that you no longer need. Archived families are not used by your PDS Office program(s).

  1. On the File menu in your PDS program, click System Processes > Delete Archived Families.
    The grid shows family records that are not used in Church Office.
  2. To view the information contained in the selected archived records, click Print List.
    Tip: This list shows the same information as the Archived Families List that's available under Family Listing Reports. However, the full report gives you the option to view all deleted families and those visible in one PDS Office program but not the other.
    The report prints the family information, funds, and member information.
  3. Select the records you want to permanently delete from your data.
  4. Click Delete / OK.
  5. Click Yes to confirm that you want to delete the selected families.
  6. Click OK.

The deleted records are permanently removed from your data file and no longer available in your PDS Office program(s).
