11.3C Release

If you're part of the Preferred Client Program, you can download the latest desktop version in the Client Portal.

PDS Church Office 11.3C, released for desktop and OnDemand 4-7-26, offers the following enhancements.

New and Improved Features

Relationships for Reassigned Members
  • When you reassign or copy a member, you can now set their relationship and member type. This is especially helpful when a young adult has grown up and is moving out of their family home. Another example would be when a child stays with their grandparents for part of the year. You can always go to the member's record to set these, but this saves you a little time!

First Names in Default Name Formats
  • You can select whether to show the first names of heads and spouses in Mailing Name and Formal Salutation formats. In the Initial Setup window, select to always use both names or only use both names if there is no family title listed.

Example of the Initial Setup window showing the option selected for "Use Both First Names in Name Formats" and the secondary option selected for "Always"

  • After you set the option, you'll see both of the first names when you recalculate the name formats. You can do this on each family's record or using the Change Names system process.

Posting Duplicates in eGiving
  • When importing eGiving information, identical entries are usually skipped since they will cause duplicates. However, there may be a good reason that you want to pull in identical entries. Now, for certain transfer types, a message will show how many duplicate entries were found and asks if you want to post them.

    • If you click No, then the list displays without the duplicates. This is the way it has worked in the past.
    • If you click Yes, then the list includes the identified duplicates. You can review the identical entries and clear the checkbox beside any that you do not want to post. Be careful to double-check your entries before you post them!
  • The new message only displays for the following transfer types: Acceptiva, Cathedral, Diversified Check Solutions-ACHeck21, FACTS, FACTS with Activity/Fund, FACTS with sub-accounting, Give Central, Format 1 (formerly Good Shepherd), NCS, Our Sunday Visitor, Parish Giving, Pledge Connect, PushPay, Sage - Simple Format, SMART Tuition Management Services, Stewardship Technology, Toshiba Business Solutions New York, Vanco Classic, and WeShare.
Note: If your transfer type is not in the list, it is either because the process does not allow duplicate checking or because the process exports information.
Better Breakdown Options for Funds Report
  • For the Breakdown of Funds by Amount Range report, we made the Breakdown Options window easier to use. The dollar ranges now match more closely with what you see in the final report.

Example showing the Breakdown Options window with the dollar amount ranges alongside the report with the same dollar amount ranges

  • As you enter the high dollar value, the low dollar value for the next range updates. This way, you can set up the ranges you want—exactly how you will see them in the report.

Corrections

We fixed issues that were reported internally to our team, as well as the following issue that affected some of our customers:
  • In certain situations, an error displayed while sending emails. The workaround was to clear the Disconnect and Reconnect After Every Email option. Now that this has been corrected, you no longer need to use the workaround unless you want to do so.
