This update features a modernized framework to help MissionInsite perform better and help our team release features quicker.
Updated and Secure Login
The first change you'll notice is our updated login process, which lets you have one account for all of your ACS Technologies (ACST) products. You can also login with Google, Apple, or Microsoft.
We've added Single Sign On (SSO) to MissionInsite, and we've migrated your username and other information. However, you must reset your password on your first login, unless you already have an ACST account.
Once you change your password, you're good to go!
Our new login procedure also changes the URL for new MissionInsite users. The URL is secure and managed by ACST, but you may need to update bookmarks. The new login URL is https://app.missioninsite.com/login.
If you already have a Realm account and your site has enabled or required multi-factor authentication, you will receive multi-factor authentication prompts when logging into MissionInsite.
Updated Password Requirements
We've updated password requirements for new users registering for accounts. Your password must contain at least eight characters and meet three of these five requirements:
-
An uppercase character
-
A lowercase character
-
A symbol
-
A number
-
15 or more characters
Your password may not have repeating characters, sequences (abc, cba, 123, 321, etc.), or any part of your email address.
User Interface Changes
Since we rebuilt the MissionInsite user interface, it has some visual differences, including:
- Automatically collapsed negative space, ensuring only one menu group is open at one time.
- Distinct header sections for pop-up dialogs.
- Standard pagination for all tables instead of long lists.
- Active buttons when an individual tab is active.
- Diameter distance displays when drawing a radius.
- Updated font sizing, outlining and shading, animations, button sizing, and minor layout changes.
Map Changes
Along with the visual differences, you'll notice changes when working directly on a map.
Our maps are now vibrant and colorful, with up-to-date visuals of roads and points of interest. Label color schemes for geographical areas such as states, counties, and census blockgroups have changed.
The less jarring colors are more visually friendly, ADA compliant, and you can easily see geographic boundaries.
Demographics Data Updates
Along with the visual changes you'll see in MissionInsite , we've also updated the data you depend on for church planting, growth, and mission efforts.
Our PopStat and Epsilon datasets feature update data, map tiles, quarter/year/season headers, and report options to reflect 2024 estimates and projections.
We've also updated MOSAIC demographics. This segmentation system from Experian provides a multidimensional view of a community and takes life stages and socioeconomic factors into account.
Last, we've incorporated 2020 census data and projections.
People Upload
The exact rows with validation errors display. If you have a few minor errors, you can fix them immediately, rather than fixing the raw file, then going through the entire People Upload process again. Once you've fixed and uploaded the file, you can download the corrected file for your internal records.
If you have many errors, such as incorrect data formats, you can still fix these inside your file and upload again. If your file has no errors, you can also review it before finishing the upload process.
We've also added a progress bar to let you know which step you're on during the upload process. You'll also receive an email when the upload is complete and when geocoding is complete.
Custom People Types
Custom people types let you name and define groups before uploading data. For example, you can create a custom people type for a private school and to plot and track school-related attributes.
When adding optional numeric, text, or date attributes for custom people types, you can add up to 20 total attributes. You can also add the number of attributes desired for each category. For example, you can add 10 text attributes, six numeric attributes, and four date attributes. Or, you could add 20 text attributes. You can choose to add fewer attributes.
You can now add lists and true/false options as well. True/False lists are useful for tracking yes or no answers, such as whether or not an uploaded person is baptized.
User Roles
Role names have changed slightly. Registered Users are now known as Standard Users, and Church Administrators are now Study Managers.
Agency Administrators are now known as Agency Managers. If you were previously an Agency Administrator and did not have the User Manager role, you will no longer receive new user approval or denial emails.
Agency/User Managers have access to the base study and all child studies and can approve (or deny) new MissionInsite users. If you were previously a User Manager, you now have this role.
We've moved the option to download a user email list to Manage Users as well.
Manage Users
With user management rights, you can now Manage Users from within MissionInsite, rather than opening a new browser window or tab. The basic systems for inviting new users, editing, removing, deactivating, or deleting users are essentially the same as before, with fewer clicks and easier navigation.
You can manage permission roles in the table and assign multiple roles. It's also easy to assign people to multiple studies.
The search feature lets you search for someone by entering their email address or selecting certain permissions or study access. You can also filter the grid to show active or guest users.
Your agency's invitation link is still in User Management, and you can now download a user email list as well.
Guest Users
Guest User accounts make it easier to work across agencies or denominational offices. If your agency represents a conference or region of your denomination, you may need to work with others in different agencies, churches, or nonprofit organizations.
While these individuals may have MissionInsite access for their agency, they don't have access to yours. You can add them as a Guest User and control their access, permissions, and roles independently within your agency.
Users can also use the same email and login within multiple agencies. For example, you can be an agency administrator in one agency and a registered user in another agency.
Reports
You can now generate multiple reports at the same time- No need to wait for the report to generate to start building and generating additional reports.
After you generate a report, it is automatically saved in your downloads folder, but it no longer displays onscreen. To view recent reports from the last 30 days, on the Navigation bar, click Recent. You can click on the report's name to download it.
You may also want to rename generated reports in your Downloads folder to help you find them easier.
All predefined reports feature the latest American Beliefs Study and demographics, data as well as a fresh new look with vibrant colors and graphs.
Nonprofit Features
The new role names (Standard Users, Study Managers, Agency Managers, and Agency/User Managers) in Manage Users are nonprofit-friendly, as we realize your language differs from church clients.
