Generate an Event Disclaimer

  • You must be a Go Method admin to do this.

An event disclaimer is like a pre-event contract. It's there to protect you, keep things transparent, and ensure everyone is on the same page.

An event disclaimer can:
  • Protect your organization from being held responsible for things outside your control — like injuries, weather-related cancellations, or changes to the event schedule.

  • Help participants understand the boundaries of the event — what's allowed, what's not, and what they're agreeing to by participating.

  • Inform participants if their image, voice, or likeness might be captured and used in promotional materials for the organization.
  • Explain inherent risks (e.g., physical activity, travel, weather) and make sure participants are aware before going on the trip.

Examples:

  • "The organization is not responsible for any personal injury or lost belongings."

  • "By attending this event, you consent to being filmed or photographed."

  • "Photos taken at this event may be used for marketing purposes."
  • "Participants in this trip acknowledge the physical risks involved."
  1. Click Admin, then select Legal.
  2. Click Event Disclaimer.
  3. Add information to the Disclaimer body.
  4. Click Save Disclaimer.
Your event disclaimer is activated! The disclaimer will appear at the bottom of every event description and team-created story.
