Giving Platforms

Tithe.ly

Tithe.ly is a payment provider that integrates with Go Method. Use Tithe.ly to process donations or payments applied to mission trips or other events.

  • You must be a Go Method admin to do this. The administrator obtaining API Keys must be a primary administrator. Secondary administrator API Keys will not work properly.
  • A Primary Administrator must obtain API Keys from Tithe.ly before setting up Go Method. Navigate to https://tithe.ly/api-setup to obtain API Keys.
Go Method currently integrates only with Tithe.ly versions 1.0 and 2.0. These versions allow users to access their API Keys, which are required for integration.

With the release of Tithe.ly version 3.0, API key access is no longer available. Because of this change, Go Method cannot integrate with Tithe.ly 3.0. As far as we know, new Tithe.ly customers may only have access to version 3.0. If this is the case, integrating with Go Method may not be possible.

  1. Click Admin > Settings.
  2. On the left menu, click Software Integration > Payment Merchants.
  3. Click Add Payment Merchant.
  4. Find Tithe.ly from the list of payment merchants, and click Choose Tithe.ly.
  5. Enter the Account Name, Payment Methods, Public Key and Private Key.
  6. Once complete, click Connect.

Donation Management

After integrating with Go Method, populate the following values for each event. You may individually edit each event to enter Tithe.ly options.

OrganizationThe group or institution that people can donate to such as a church or ministry. Selecting this value populates the giving type.
Donation Giving TypeWhen a donation occurs, this the giving type of the donation in Tithe.ly.
Participant Giving TypeWhen payment is made from a participant, what giving type should the payment be assigned to. If participant payments are not tax deductible, attribute those payments to a different giving type. This can be the same as Donation Giving Type.

Issuing Refunds

You can issue refunds that were made using Tithe.ly while working in Go Method.

  • You must be a Go Method admin to do this.
Refunds must be for the entire amount.
  1. In the top menu, click Events > My Events.
  2. Select the event you want to manage funding for.
  3. In the left menu, click Funding.
  4. Click on the funds you want to credit.
  5. From the drop-down menu, click Issue a Refund.
  6. Click Yes, Refund Payment.
