Stock and Cryptocurrency

Learn more about how to receive stock and cryptocurrency gifts through your giving forms.

We've partnered with Engiven to expand the avenues through which your contributors give. When you integrate, you can select stock and/or cryptocurrency ("crypto") options for your online giving forms and assign which payment type displays as the default for your contributors.

Engiven ensures data security for your contributors and handles any crypto conversions on their end. So, if an individual wants to give $50, the crypto they select updates in real time to show how much of it will go toward your ministry. As an administrator or user with the permissions to view gifts, you'll always see the dollar amount in your tables and reports.

Any stock or crypto gift you receive will display in the Engiven tab on the Contributions page. You must post these gifts yourself. You also need to set up a merchant account before you can enable stock and crypto.

Engiven requires a 4% processing fee from each stock and crypto gift at the time it's exchanged or sold.

Enable Stock and Cryptocurrency

Enable your integration with Engiven to start accepting stock and cryptocurrency gifts.

  1. In the top-left corner, click your site name then Giving. Then click Main Menu > Settings > Additional Features.
  2. In the Stock and Cryptocurrency section, click Learn More.
  3. Read more about the stock and cryptocurrency options that will soon be available to you as well as what Engiven provides.
  4. Click Next Step: Enable Integration.
  5. Complete all empty fields, and review the fields that were prepopulated to make sure they're correct.
  6. Read Engiven Foundation's terms of service, and acknowledge it.
  7. Click Enable Integration.

Disable Stock and Cryptocurrency

Stop receiving stock and cryptocurrency ("crypto") gifts through your giving forms.

When you disable, any stock or crypto gifts currently in progress continue to process. But you cannot receive any new stock and crypto gifts.
  1. In the top-left corner, click your site name then Giving. Then click Main Menu > Settings > Additional Features.
  2. In the Stock and Cryptocurrency section, click Edit Status.
  3. Click Disable Integration.

Re-enable Stock and Cryptocurrency

Accept stock and cryptocurrency ("crypto") contributions again.

If you decide to re-enable, any giving forms that accepted stock and crypto gifts before will resume accepting them.
  1. In the top-left corner, click your site name then Giving. Then click Main Menu > Settings > Additional Features.
  2. In the Stock and Cryptocurrency section, click Edit Status.
  3. Click Enable Integration.
