What's the biggest win for organizations using MP eGiving?

Organizations have success with giving when they embed their giving form, enable Apple Pay, and use our example site, Widget Church, to understand what giving can look like on your website.

What's one MP eGiving feature organizations often overlook?

When you set up a giving form, you can default new payment methods to ACH to help reduce costs for your organization.
Example of the Form Defaults section showing the option for "Default new payment methods to ACH"

When enabled, the giving form will automatically show the Bank Account option when someone gives. Donors can choose a different option if they want, but this encourages them to use the Bank Account when possible.

Can donors choose to cover the fees when they give?

Yes. When you set up a giving form, you can default to gifts helping to offset processing costs.

When enabled, the giving form will select the checkbox beside Contribute an extra (dollar amount) to help offset processing costs by default.

Can we put the giving form directly on our website?

Yes. You can embed a giving form so that it shows up "inside of" your website (referred to as an embed) or "over" a webpage (referred to as an overlay). For more information, see Your Giving Form Embeds. You can also see examples on the Widget Church example site.

Does MP eGiving support giving for multiple campuses or parishes with separate funds or accounting structures?

Yes. Each campus or parish can have its own giving form and deposit account.

How does MP eGiving prevent duplicate donor records when someone gives online for the first time?

MP eGiving matches donors based on first name, last name, and email address. If none of those match an existing record, the donation is set to the default contact in MP. Then, you can manually match it or create a new donor record.

If we're switching from a third-party giving provider, can we import historical giving into MP eGiving?

Yes. We have a migration tool that helps you manage online gifts. You can view and communicate with donors as they create recurrences that they previously set up. With historical data, we can move giving history into MinistryPlatform. Contact MP support for assistance.
