Manage Your Assignments

Keep up with the times you're scheduled to serve—see what's coming, respond, and find a fill-in when you can't make it.

Once a team leader schedules you, manage your assignments here:

View Upcoming Assignments

You can view your upcoming volunteer assignments.

On the serving overview page, you can view your upcoming volunteer assignments. You can also view information about each assignment and see who else is scheduled.
  1. In the top-left corner, click your site name then Connect. Then click Volunteering/Serving.
  2. Click See All Assignments to view a full list of your assignments. By default, you will view the assignments you have accepted. Click the Declined tab to view assignments you have declined.
  3. Click the name of an assignment to see more information about that assignment. Click the People Scheduled to Serve tab to view other volunteers who are on the assignment.

Accept or Decline Assignments

Accept or decline your volunteer assignments—in the app or straight from the assignment email.

When you're assigned to a schedule, you can accept or decline the assignment—either in the app on your Volunteering/Serving page or straight from the assignment email you receive.
Note: If you accept an assignment but later can't serve that day, you can ask another volunteer to step in. See Request a Replacement.
  1. In the top-left corner, click your site name then Connect. Then click Volunteering/Serving.
  2. In the Awaiting Your Response section, click New Assignments to view your pending assignments.
  3. To see more about an assignment, such as the team leader or others on the schedule, click the assignment.
  4. Click Accept or Decline. To respond to everything at once, click Accept All or Decline All at the top of the New Assignments page.
  5. You can also respond straight from the assignment email:
    1. In the Assignment Request email, click Respond to assignments.
    2. In the Pending Assignments section, click Accept next to an assignment. To decline, click Decline, enter a reason, then click Yes, Decline.
    3. To respond to all assignments at once, click Accept All or Decline All.

Request a Replacement

Ask other volunteers to serve in your place, and track the status of your request.

Replacement requests are only available when a team leader (or someone with responsibility for the schedule) enables them.
If you've accepted an assignment but something prevents you from serving that day, you can ask other volunteers on your team to take your place. Realm suggests potential replacements, and you can include a short personal message. When someone accepts, they're placed on the schedule and you're removed from that assignment.
  1. In the top-left corner, click your site name then Connect. Then click Volunteering/Serving.
  2. Click See All Assignments to view the assignments you've accepted.
  3. Click the date of an assignment, then click Find a Replacement.
  4. Select volunteers from the list, then click Next.
  5. Enter a personal message if needed, then click Send.
  6. To check on your request later, click See All Assignments; the status appears under that assignment.
Note: A replacement request shows one of these statuses:
    • Replacement request not accepted yet — your request is still pending.
    • Everyone declined your replacement request — all volunteers declined.
    • Your replacement request has been accepted — a volunteer accepted, and they now have the assignment.

Respond to a Replacement Request

Accept or decline a volunteer replacement request.

If a volunteer on your team has accepted a scheduled assignment but cannot show up for any reason, they may send a replacement request. If you accept the replacement request, you are put on the schedule in their place.
  1. In the top-left corner, click your site name then Connect. Then click Volunteering/Serving.
  2. In the Awaiting Your Response section, you can view the number of replacement requests that are waiting for your response.
  3. Click Replacement Requests to view more details about the request. If the other volunteer included a short message, you will also see this along with the request.
  4. Click Accept or Decline to respond to the replacement request.
