Deleting a Topic or Map
This guide provides instructions on how to properly delete a topic or map in DITA, emphasizing the importance of removing all links, images, conrefs, and keyrefs before deletion to avoid unnecessary cleanup work.boolean: yes
Warning: Do not move files to the trash without removing all links to other files. Failing to do so creates hours of tedious cleanup work.
For example, you no longer need a topic that links to a map, 3 conrefs, 1 keyref, and 2 images. Remove the images, conrefs, keyrefs, and remove it from all maps BEFORE moving it to trash or scheduling it for deletion.
If you plan to delete a ditamap, remove all topics from the map prior to moving or scheduling the file to be discarded.
