Example Task with Stem Sentence

Learn how to insert a stem sentence, when necessary.

The <stepsection outputclass="p-stem"> behavior is available in the ACS-PDF and MissionInsite-PDF publishing scenarios. As of 4/20/2021, formatting for stem sentences is not available in the portal.

To insert a stem sentence
  1. Place the cursor in the first step.
  2. Click the + sign to add a <stepsection> element BEFORE the first step.
  3. Type a brief stem sentence that contains a verb. Do not use a colon.
  4. Click the Attributes tab and add p-stem to the outputclass attribute.

The stem sentence will only appear in PDF, connected with the steps, when outputclass="p-stem" is present. If a writer is using <stepsection> for <context>-type info), it will format with slightly more separation above the steps.
