Check Spreadsheets for Permanent Links
To build permanent links, writers utilize a content component called a Resource ID. This ID is located in the prolog of each article. There may be more than one. Writers are encouraged to use the attribute "Application Name" to indicate where the resource id is used: the product, LMS, email, etc.
- Check the spreadsheets to see if the article you're looking for already has an id.
- If you are unable to locate it in the spreadsheet, sign into Heretto and locate the article name. Writers organize the articles by product then features. You can also use search, but keep in mind that there are many similar features across our ChMSs, so double check the article pertains to the product you're looking for. For example, Realm and MinistryPlatform have group topics.
- Double click to open the article, and expand the Prolog. (You may have to set the topic status to In Progress to open the Prolog.) If a resource ID has been assigned, you'll see it here.
- Alternatively, you can look at the source code. Just right-click the article and select Edit Source. Under prolog, you'll see one or more resource id's.
- If the article does not have a resource id, follow our steps and standards to add a new one.
- Merge the article to the Production branch and let us know you'd like us to publish.
- Build your permananent link and record in the spreadsheet.
