State Reconciliation Grayed Out During Electronic Filing

This troubleshooting guide addresses the issue of the State Reconciliation window appearing grayed out after generating Forms W-2 in Payroll and Electronic Filing across multiple versions. The problem typically arises due to a Microsoft Silverlight issue and can be resolved by installing any prompted plugins or reinstalling Silverlight.

After generating Forms W-2, the state reconciliation is gray.

  • Products Affected: Payroll, Electronic Filing

  • Versions Affected: Multiple Versions

This usually occurs due to a Microsoft Silverlight issue.

  1. To resolve this, right-click on the dark area.
  2. If prompted, install any plugins.
    The form should display.
  3. You can also uninstall and reinstall Silverlight to fix the issue.
