Static Height Detail Band Cannot Fit
This troubleshooting guide addresses the error "Static height detail band cannot fit on page" that may occur when printing W-2s or 941s in any version of the Payroll product. The solution involves adjusting the top and bottom margins on the W-2s or 941s and ensuring default fonts and orientation are selected in Printer Setup.
When printing W-2s or 941s, this error displays:
Static height detail band cannot fit on page.

The "Static height detail band cannot fit on page" error might happen because of wrong printer setup. The top and bottom margins on the W-2s or 941s might be too big. Also, the printer might not be using the default
To resolve this error, change the top and bottom margins on the W-2s or 941s. You may also want to make sure default fonts and orientation are selected in Printer Setup.
- Under Generate Reports, click the Period End Reports tab.
- In the drop-down list, select Payroll 941 and W-2s and click Go.
- On the W-2 or 941 tab, click OK to display the printer dialog box, then click Preview.
- Click on the Page Setup icon.
- On the Margins tab, decrease the Top and Bottom margins. You may need to change them to zero.
- Click OK.
- Preview and/or print the W-2s or 941s.
