Issue with Displaying Beginning Balances on Restricted Accounts Summary

This troubleshooting article addresses the issue of beginning balances not displaying on the Summary of Restricted Accounts in General Ledger. It provides steps to resolve this issue by including zero balances and accounts with no activity when customizing the report.

After entering and posting beginning balances for restricted accounts, the balances do not display on the Summary of Restricted Accounts.

The issue arises when the report is not set to include zero balances and accounts with no activity. This setting omission results in the non-display of beginning balances for restricted accounts on the Summary of Restricted Accounts. To resolve this issue, include zero balances and accounts with no activity when customizing the report.

  1. Under Generate Reports, click the Reports tab.
  2. In the drop-down list, select General Ledger and click Go.
  3. Expand Statements, then select the Summary of Restricted Accounts report that you want to print.
  4. In the lower sidebar, select a Posting Month and Year and click Customize.
  5. Select Include no Activity and Zero Balances.
  6. Click Preview.
