Fixed Assets Troubleshooting

Invalid Transaction Entry Post Depreciation Failed

Number_9,General_Ledger

When trying to post depreciation, this error displays:

"Error: Could not create GL transaction! Error number: 9 Invalid Transaction Entry Post Depreciation failed."

  • Products Affected: Fixed Assets

  • Versions Affected: Multiple Versions

This error occurs because some items don't have an account number to post to General Ledger.

  1. Preview or print the Depreciation Journal. This displays the items without account numbers.
  2. On the Depreciation tab, edit the items. Enter the asset account number and expense account number.
  3. Be sure a depreciation method is selected.
    Now, you'll be able to post depreciation.
