Impersonate User

The Impersonate Platform User Tool allows you to quickly log in to the Platform as another user.
The tool allows you to assist other Platform users with items such as troubleshooting issues, providing training, ensuring Security Roles are set appropriately, and taking specific actions on a user's behalf (for example, completing Tasks or adding charts to a dashboard).

Note: When you are impersonating another User, any Tools you use will be based on your permissions, not the permissions of the person you're impersonating. So, for example, if you use the Transfer Selection Tool, the selection will be transferred to YOUR page, not the page of the person you're impersonating.

Important: The ability to impersonate other users should be bestowed carefully, It is typically used by SPoCs or other high-level users.

Initial Setup

To have access to this tool, a SPoC must set the Can Impersonate field to Yes on the appropriate User record.

Note: The User record Can Impersonate field only control access to this tool and not the Impersonate Portal User Tool.

Click your Display Name in the upper-right corner.
Select Impersonate.
In the pop-up window that displays, start typing the name (Last Name, First Name) of the person you want to impersonate.
When the correct name displays, click the name.
Click Impersonate.
Once your screen refreshes, you are logged in as the other user.
When you're finished with impersonation, go back to the menu and click Stop Impersonating.
